So many times you will make a dinner, plane or hotel reservation only to find out you went on the wrong day, they gave your room to someone else, or you have to wait three hours even though you made a dinner reservation a month ago.

What's your most memorable reservation story?

I can't imagine any reservation turning out as well as yours did. See, it pays to be a gentleman. Congrats

I lwill dare to answer the question only on a solemn promise from you you would not reveal it to anybody.

I had obtained an advance reservation at Kulu Manledeali for a weekend alone. As it was destined to happen on reaching there I found that my room was not available as the previous occupant had extended stay land noalternate was available. The Manager apologised profusely but those were not adeauate to help me pass the night in the lounge. Yet I stretched myself on a bench under a blanket kindly provided by the manager. But the night was much too cold . I was lying shivering and must havedozed off. I looked up with bleary eyes as somebody woke me up. She was a young lady.I woke up. Sheaplogised profusely for unilatetally extending her stay and offered me to accommodate in the room for the night. I was aghast and refused. But she insisted and threatend to vacate theroom and also come in the lounge. I gave in thinking her . I lied down on the makeshift bed. You can imagine easily that I was not able to sleep but the young girl was fast asleep . I was touched by thetrust she showed in me. In the morning we got up,had our breakfast together andintroduced ourselves. And--and the incident had a cinematic denoument. I got permission to sleep with her in the same bed room throughout the rest of my life. We got married.

I made reservations for "Willie and Waylen" at Caesars back in about '97: it cost me about $150.00 at the time for my wife and I: we ended up at the top of the grand stands: Willie and Waylen came on drunk and all doped up, on their own account, they were parting all night and doing pot, they claimed: they never finished a number they started and didn't get into one without stating to laugh and talk between themselves.
We left after about 30 minutes, we had a line up going out the gate, so many were leaving. I never felt the same about either one again. I read in the paper they were a bust that night and wouldn't be invited back to Caesars.

My wife and daughter stayed at the Golden Nugget in Vegas. My wife noticed the spread was rumpled so she pulled it back to find soiled sheets and, what looked like body fluids on the sheets. They called the manager and he came to examine, when he was there, they found three dirty condoms under the bed.

He said they had no more rooms but, we being from Vegas knew better and my wife made several calls and got another room at Sam's town. The "Nugget" made no apologies or comps.

November 3, 1979 I was due to fly out of Manama, Bahrain for Dahran, Saudi Arabia around 10 a.m. Unfortunately it was the middle of the Haj (pilgrimage to Mecca), so there were no guaranteed seats. FINALLY around 4:30 a.m. on November 4th, my name was called and I was on a plane bound for London with a connection to JKF. While we were waiting in London, there was a news cast about...the take over of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran by Iranian militants. One of my shipmates was supposed to leave 3 days after me. He got held until February.
