Seems that way

The media provides the negativity that the Democrats seem to feed off of.
They are doing the best job of it that I've seen.

When the country started to become divided over the terror war strategy, some said that the only way the country would become united again is if we had another disaster.

Well, we had one. Katrina. The press and the Democrats found a way to use that to further divide us practically blaming Bush for the weather.

7-7 you would think might bring us back on task? Nope. A new spectrum of complaints, blame games and finger pointing.

The latest? A bridge in Minnesota. More division. The bridge collapse is blamed on the war budget as if no bridges would be rickety if there was no troops in an 'illegal' war. Intimating that it would not have fallen in a legal war?

If the liberal press doesn't have a trough of slop to feed at, they will build one.

Judging by the new democratic congress having the lowest ratings in congressional history in record time, we can only assume nothing will change anyway.

Divide and conquer is not a unique strategy. The terrorists employed that tactic and the democrats lead by the liberal press have accommodated the enemy and they are winning. Now we are contemplating surrender.

I only hope the ghosts of the greatest generation let us sleep at night.

You may be looking at it wrong. Actually it is when these things happen that it is the Democrats that have to fix the mess left by the Republicans

When things in Iraq are bad it is the Democrats that will have to fix it
When the nation is racist the Democrats fight for civil rights
When the Republican deficit is crippling the country's economy it is the Democrats fiscal responsibility that will fix the problem
When family values are crippled by the RNC version of values to the corporations and not to the people it is the Democrats that have to repair the damage
When we have a terrorist attack, they attack America. That is all of us, not the left or the right.

Nice rant, but I hope we can restore the American Dream and stop the economic slide of the average American. We can restore some integrity to the Constitution and the White House.

These "bad" things are only good when republicans hold office. Even then, wouldn't you agree that having a plan to fix things that are wrong is far better than creating bad things? Look who has created the situation in Iraq. Who has neglected US infrastructure so that our nation's interstate highways are in disrepair, our parks are understaffed, and health care problems are addressed by giving away billions in federal aid to pharmaceutical companies?

Far better to take advantage of problems created by the other party for political gain AND implement policies to address those problems, than it is to create the problems to begin with. I don't think the republicans have been colluding with democrats by purposefully creating problems in the hopes democrats will be able to capitalize on their mistakes--but sometimes you have to wonder. Is our government a plutocracy or a kakistrocracy?

It's sad to say but it does seem to be the case. How many people who call themselves Democrats really get this? I think the party has changed over the years and many citizens who have been honorable Democrats in the past simply don't realize this. They need to take back their party so that a good and honest debate about what is best for the USA can occur. Right now what's happening in DC is just silliness. It seems that just a few Senators who are Democrats are rooting for the US (Joe Lieberman comes to mind and likely a few others). The traditional Dems seem to have been washed away by a bunch of far-left wackos who have absolutely hijacked the party.

You have made a list that would apply to the most extreme left in our country. I know many liberals and the items you list do not describe them. Now, I could make a list of the characteristics of the most extreme right, but what would be the point.

Unfortunately, whatever party is in office, the other party benefits when bad things happen. Instead of pointing fingers and making outrageous statements, why don't you make a list of things YOU are doing to make America a better place?
Now that would be refreshing.

Shouldn't your name be lurchright?
What a complete load. You just descibed both parties.
Bad in Iraq? Lack of knowledge is that problem so Republican hawks need to take that one, they gave it to the Dems.
Hispanics? Not all Dems are for amnesty.
Blacks like Obama, who happens to be Dem.
American dream? There is no one dream, so both sides get that one.
Destruction of family values? My top priority as a parent is to provide, I don't know who pays for your groceries, gas and utilities but I pay alot more now.
Killing of babies? Not sure if you have kids but mine will always be my babies, even if they are adult soldiers. Not just the unborn.
The Christian fanatics are the ones turning people off religion.
And old Bushy boy hasn't continuously blamed Clinton for not doing enough to stop bin Laden?

This was a stupid question the first 100 times it was posted and it doesn't get any more intelligent through repetition.

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

[edit]
It's also extremely hypocritical coming from a party that has built all of its recent "success" on 9/11. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Of course not. No reasonably conscious American of either party wishes for these things.

All of these things are bad for us all whether we are democrats or republicans.

So let's just skip all the hyperbole and get on with fixing the nation. Bad things will happen if we just sit back and keep pointing the finger at the other guy...we can all rely on that.

The Democrats don't "Run" America. They just attain "Power" by defeating those that DO run America - the Republicans.

So it is in their eternal interest to hurt America every chance they get so that they can go to the public and say,

"look the country is weaker than it was when the Republicans took power, vote US in now."

Then when they are in power, they don't hurt America so that they can say that things are going smoothly while in power. The problem is that like I said earlier, Democrats don't "RUN" the country, or anything for that matter. They simply bask in the power. Nothing gets done. When people are finally sick and tired of it, they elect a republican again.

The cycle goes on - The dems resume hurting America.

Do you HONESTLY believe that? Or are you just stirring the pot with your childish mudslinging?

How can you live in a country such as yours if you TRULY believe that at least half of the population is hoping for disaster just so they can blame it on the 'other side'? Is that the country that you are proud to call home? The one that used to be known as the greatest nation in the world?
