This war is essentailly over nothing. We did not need to get engaged- especially to this degree. Its over oil, for crying out loud. We are sending young men to die so that we can drive SUVs...yes, I can see the reason in that. Geez. 'War on terror'...give me a break. This country needs to repair itself before trying to fix the rest of the world. *breathes*
Ok I feel better now. But truly...war is disgusting, horrifying and quite ridiculous if you think about it. Humans suffer enough as it is- not enough food, curroption in governments, overpopulation, disease, the list goes on. And we decide to solve problems like we have no brains- we go out there and shoot eachother. We must work together to make this world livable and benifitial for all.
*edit*
BTW, I am not much older than you (16), and you basically have been taking in and believing the propaganda. There is much more to this war. And it needs to stop.

You definitely need to re examine your sentence structure. Periods and commas are wonder full things. Sentences just love it it when you use punctuation, so give those sentences some loving...

I do agree that our viewpoints change with age, however you will want to examine things from all sides to get a better idea of the facts of an issue.

Here are the facts:

In the late 90's the WTC (World Trade Center) has bombed using a Rider truck parked in the garage under the WTC.

Also the embassy bombings happened and the attack on the USS Cole. President Clinton used cruise missiles on Sudan and Afghanistan to no effect.

Clinton had on several occasions the ability to capture Bin Laden and yet didn't.

On Sept 11th 2001, the WTC was destroyed by aircraft piloted by Islamic terrorists. 2 other planes were also involved, one hit the Pentagon and 1 impacted in Pennsylvania.

President Bush asked for and received from the congress authority to use force and attack the terrorists.

We attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan and removed them from power.

President Bush asked the UN for sanctions against Saddam, for his refusal to allow UN weapons inspectors into Iraq and finish their job that was mandated under the cease fire agreement in the First Gulf War. The UN agreed. Saddam at first didn't hinder the inspectors, but soon went back to his old trick of delay, deny, and hinder any efforts of looking for WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction). President Bush the asked congress again for authorization for possible military action against Iraq if they failed to comply with the UN. Congress approved his request.

The US military then went in and attacked Iraq. Although Saddam managed to sneak away, the US troops quickly won the battle and freed Bagdad. A bad post attack plan led to widespread looting.

Saddam was eventually captured and hung for his multiple crimes against the people of Iraq.

Before we went into Iraq the press quoted that the US would lose 36,000 troops. Now more than 4 years later, the US have lost a bit more than 3,600 troops killed and about 26,000 injured.

Although there have been many questions concerning WMDs, some have been found. These were from the time of the Iran/Iraq war. These weapons while degraded can still kill.

While most people have no clue what a nerve agent can do, most people have used them. Raid, a common bug spray uses a type of nerve agent that effects insects. Nerve agents that effect humans act somewhat the same way, but a whole lot quicker (less than 1 minute from exposure to death).

Some folks think we should have never gone into Iraq. They feel any loss of life of US troops is one too many. While I personally don't agree with them, they are entilted to their opinion.

As you get older, your opinions about many things may change from what you have now and some won't.

Remember to look at both sides and get as much information as you can before you make a decision about anything.

It's always good to hear a young adult interested in something other than an MP3 players and IPod downloads. But I am going to have to differ with your opinion. What I would have to differ on is the job done even up until now; I think it would have been better for the administration to seek the the actual person who planned and orchestrated the attack on our country killing over 3, 000 of our citizens; found them, and brought them to justice. But instead they conjured up a campaign to basically invade an innocent country on a false accusation, make all of the citizen angry enough to go to war on those "false" accusation mind you. Then they took those same accusations, put them on a huge screen at the UN, to try to persuade the UN to back an invasion of an actually unarmed country. But when the UN said before they would back an attack, they wanted to do an inspection and investigate the claims of weaponry. Instead a go ahead was made, unilaterally and war is waged against a falsely accused country. Now we are entrenched in a war and have no plan to assist the citizens who volunteered to fight for this country under the belief that this is the country that attacked us. Now I don't think that would fall under a good job description. I don't think I have to make you aware of the fact that the person who actually orchestrated our attack is still free.

Sounds like a 14 year old kid to me. And a poorly educated one at that. 1. Learn to spell. 2. Sending U.S. troops into Iraq has done absolutely nothing to make U.S. citizens safer. Any terrorist cells operating anywhere in the world (including Iraq) are free to plot and carry out terrorist attacks on the U.S. mainland. In fact they have a much greater chance of success because so much of the U.S. military's attention is focused in Iraq and not on U.S. seaports, airports, borders, metropolitan areas and prime potential targets. 3. If Osama bin Laden was ever captured or killed he would be elevated among al-Qaeda members to martyr status and a new leader would take his place. 4. The attack on the W.T.C. had nothing to do with hatred of American freedom and everything to do with American imperialism and corporate exploitation (especially by the oil companies). Suggestion: Go to wikipedia and look up operation Ajax, Kermit Roosevelt, Leon Strauss and dominionists.

Well Daniel --
First of all, my young neocon in training, anyone who believes that this "war on terror" is detering any would be terrorists from attacks within the USA is thinking with a plug in their brain !! If they could, they would !! It's like saying that they HAVE TO be in Iraq fighting us and nowhere else -- simply because WE'RE there --- Rat's Rump !!
Given the opportunity -- the radical Islamic factions would be all over our stuff within this country every single day --- all the more reason to have SOME military forces HERE (??)
Instead --- we have our military stretched out all over the freaking globe -- in every other sector OF the world !!

I was particularly impressed that you DID catch the part where ---"....like Bush said he does do a good job" -- the country is quite aware that HE thinks his doing a good job -- and so do the globalist puppet- masters that are jerking his chains !!!!!!

It’s been a while since I was in high school, but as I remember it – you learn about U.S. history first – then world history. You say you don’t understand why they would attack us. . . I do. We created all the problems we currently face; they aren’t jealous, they don’t want to be better than us – they want us to leave them alone. Westerners have been taking it upon themselves to decide how the middle east should be for nearly the past 100 years. Iraq was formed by the League of Nations drawing lines on a map in the early 1920’s!
Bush doesn’t understand what the Iraqi people want, how they want to live, or why they don’t trust us. Your understanding comes out of your inexperience. The more you learn, the more you understand there is much more than meets the eye!

Green Jobs are an illusion - each job will be so subsidised that the tax payer will pay more that the jobs bring in in tax, so it will just make the economy worse. The kind of Green jobs Americans need are the ones that pay greenbacks, in a free economy, not these government subsidised, make-work, pretend that green can work, BS jobs. I don't want a job flipping burgers either, but it's better than working in a greenwash!

There is alot more that a 14 year old needs to know before tackling such a complex issue. GWB doing a good job? Hardly the case at all. Consider this, he has made possible to install backdoors into the internet, allowed people to be abducted in the middle of the night without reason, denied them of due process or legal representation, attacked a country with no reason before hand (I'll hit him first and then think of a reason later), claimed to not be an occupier in Iraqi but refuses to leave despite their president and vice president requesting American troop withdrawal, made it possible to be declared a military combatant for speaking against his views (Military Commission Act), made it possible to be a dictator (Homeland Security Directive), etc....

Doing a good job? Maybe if was aiming to strip the American people of their rights and freedom....

I'm not surprised that a 14 year old would support the war. Once you get some experience and a more developed intellect and the ability to examine all sides of an issue, you'll look back at the fact that you posted this and wonder what you could possibly have been thinking.

I can tell when GWB is lying because he pauses so much in his speeches. It's really not for dramatic effect.

Listen to public radio and not Fox News and you may yet learn the real truth.
