I've tried looking it up but can't seem to find it. I thought it was a wolf spider but I don't think the eyes are the same. I live in Colorado and this spider crawled out of the grass near the water spigot.

The picture is not too clear, but it looks as though it is a grass
spider or sheet-web spider, sometimes called funnel-web
spider (but not the same as the Australian funnel-web spider,
which is dangerously poisonous). The family is Agelenidae
and the genus is Agelenopsis or any one of a few other genera very similar to Agelenopsis. They build sheet-like webs with round tunnels extending from one edge, the tunnels
used as retreats and escape hatches by the spiders. They
are very fast moving but quite harmless. They are rather
similar to wolf spiders in appearance and behavior, but
the eye arrangement is different.

I agree that this is a wolf spider. I couldn't see the eyes in this pic, but the markings look like a wolf spider. I also don't see a web anywhere in the pic, which leads me to believe this is infact a wolf spider (wolf spiders don't spin webs). There are certain types of wolf spiders that burrow in the ground, which might be why this guy was in the grass.

Also doing a google search on "wolf spiders" will bring up a bunch of links with pics.

I looked the Spider up and it looks very much Like The "Wolf Spider", they are poisonous BTW. I did not realize this until I read about them on the site. I cannot stand Spiders, and that one would have been Dead after I beat it with a Shovel...

I'm not sure what kind of a spider that is, but I live in NorthWest Ohio and I've seen some very similiar to that here. I saw them in our garage on the wall, of under something when I move it.

Yes. It's a wolf spider. And they leave a nasty bite. One bit me in the groin while I was asleep. And it took a long time to heal and left a large scar.

I believe it's a funnel-web spider.

And in response to your post on the other board, yes, some spiders DO jump. This one doesn't, though.
