Democracy, as we know it in the United States will never come to Iraq. They don't and won't believe in Democracy because the Islam re legion doesn't proclaim it.
When Russia went to a democratic society the people, after a few years didn't like it. They enjoyed getting everything they needed, I didn't say wanted, but "needed"from the Government who couldn't supply it now because the unions, the shops, couldn't make what was needed, due to the government did everything for them before now, they couldn't fart without the government say when to and, how to. Sad.

Iraq is going to be just like this. We're imposing a society on them they don't want, they only think they want it because we say so.

Cheney could care less about democracy. Same with Bush. This is evident in the fact they won TWO shady elections. They have taken away their own citizens' right to privacy and free speech and they have secret prisons. Cheney cares about his ties with Iraq oil and Haliburton. Since we DON'T have a true democracy how can we try to make someone else have a true democracy?

Heck no!

We don't even know what a democracy is over here.
We've been told our country is a democracy for years and in reality, it's a republic.

Case in point:
The handful of men who run the government at a federal level decide to outlaw booze, dangerous drugs and pot. They only respond to the will of the people after jailing thousands of citizens for doing what was legal a few months before.
Finally the liquor lobbyists get to them and they make booze legal again. Leaving dangerous drugs.. and pot on their list of forbidden items.

Fast forward to California in the "new millenium". A vote is taken by the people (democratic process). The people of the state of California speak.
They decide (democratically) to legalize the dreaded pot for medical purposes. Please bear in mind, the people have spoken. No one contested the validity of the item on the ballot and the PEOPLE CHOSE TO MAKE THIS LEGAL.

Enter our federalis. The enter California, with NO REGARD for the democratic process and proceed to arrest the people who are following state statutes, regulations and restrictions.

Once again, the people speak and the republic says "We ain't listenin'".

Democracy my eye.
