Seeing them is something you might have to do. They are not bad little things, now if it is a rat then you will need a big trap. The mouse or rat will run from you once you open the cage door. Best thing if you get the safe traps is to check them daily! Do not let the poor little things starve, things to put in the traps would be something they feel safe eating. We have used peacans, dog food, and peanut butter. Or get a hungery kitty cat or a snake if you like those things.

You can go to Walmart and get these things called Mice Cubes. Its just a small rectangular plastic cube that traps the mouse inside without hurting them(its a trap door that can only be pushed in). Just place a piece of cracker with peanutbutter inside the cube...and if you have mice, you will definitely catch one unharmed!

You cannot fix what you won't look at. You really need to find out what the noise is. There are "live" traps for mice. Waiting will only allow more mice to be in your home as they multiply rapidly.

go to home depot. they sell mouse traps that will not kill them. my friend had the same problem and its like a little box she put cheese in it and as soon as the mice was in there automaticallly the little door would close. you should try that
or check this out also

A cat. Do not over feed the cat or he/she will not chase the mouse out.

I know you don't want to hurt animals, but mice/rats carry diseases. You might have to grit your teeth and buy a mouse trap.

Sorry, hon.

Call an exterminator to catch them and set them free or do it yourself.
