The best punishment would be to cut their "manhood" off, gouge their eyes out and skull F---K them with it.

First lead them to watch a Pauly Shore movie, conceal their deepest aspects in honey & unload Jungle fireplace ants on them, then lead them to consume not something yet Burger King fries till they get unwell & die

A mental evaluation, then when that comes back saying they have nil chance of rehabilitation, straight to jail. There they can be chemically castrated and the guards can tell everyone what they are there for. Having family that works in corrections I assure you that people who do mean things to kids would rather die than spend a year in general population.
FYI-the only reason I say they need a mental evaluation first is there are people who insist that nobody is beyond help. Regardless of the statistics that show molesters have a high rate of recidivism.

I think the best punishment would be castration (and not the chemical kind either!) and then drop them all off on a deserted island in the middle of shark-infested waters to fend for themselves

CASTRATION! I was abused as a child and I still, at 27, have trust issues. I was 4!!! and I know of 14 others that were abused by him. Do you know where he is??? walking the streets! POS!!!

Castration without any sedation or sterile equipment.. then be locked up for the rest of their life with visitors consisting only of family & friends of the child. The family & friends should be allowed to beat the child molestor without reprucussions.
Some may think that sounds awful.. but, child molestors ruin the childs life forever.

Legally speaking? Because I have many many answers that the government would not allow. But if you mean in a legal, serious manner, then I would have to say we should go back to the old days of hanging. It would be the cheapest route for the taxpayers!

We either chop off their genitalia, or in a woman's case, sew her's up, possibly even remove sex organs. Or they get the death penalty.
Edit: I just want to add, that if anyone ever touched either my own children (should I ever have any) or a child that I know and love, they wouldn't have to worry about the death penalty or even being tried. I would rip them apart before it ever got that far.

There is no punishment big enough!
Castration sounds good, but it has to be done slowly and without any kind of anesthesia, and that would just be the beginning.

Studies have shown that sexual offenders are still violent when they are medicated to suppress there urges.
They still find ways to hurt people.
I would suggest that rather than cutting off there penis they have there arms, legs and teeth cut off so they cant hurt anyone every again. also so they get to experience what its like to be helpless and at the mercy of others.
