Wow, you asked if anyone could refute her points without ad hominem attacks and look at all of the attacks that came from people who didn't read the book. Others said they would attack her points if Quilter listed them. See, that's the point. The libs want to attack what someone else is saying about what Coulter said, not what Coulter is saying.
Read it yourself. I watched Michael Moore's movies. Why? To see for myself, not to get the talking points from someone else. I read Coulter. Why? To see for myself.
I saw nothing I could argue with except for some style points. Her point she made about SOME of the 9/11 widows was well taken. But people say "you can't say ANYTHING bad about them because they are 9/11 widows".
I guess there are some people you can't say anything bad about. I have disagreements with President Bush and my lib friends eat it up. But let me criticize Clinton for his behavior with some women and I am lambasted because he has supported a woman's right to choose. Therefore, I am not allowed to criticize him.
Double standard.

I haven't tried to read Godless. I did try to read one of her books once (I forget the title, but it was published within the last five years). I found her writing style vicious and incoherent. I don't think that qualifies as an attack on her. I simply have never known her to make an argument that I would call logical.

The answers so far have demonstrated why leftists are completely in the dark - because they refuse to listen. I've read all of Coulter's books because she has an entertaining style of pointing out the obvious, even though she's a bit abrasive at times. Her facts are always well researched and footnoted and she maintains a sense of humor that is lost on democrats. Li'l Abner used to say, "As any fool can plainly see....", which could be used as a sub-title for all of her writings. She is despised by the left because of her accuracy and refusal to back off.

Ms. Coulter lacks respect for her readers or anyone who should even QUESTION some of her ideas. This does not show intelligence, but rather a high level of insecurity. Paying good, hard earned money into the pockets of someone like that is foolish and enabling. Just my opinion...

I'm a libertarian and anybody could have written her piece of garbage book. She just uses inflammatory words and insults, what's so special about that? There is no substance in that book. She uses ad hominen attacks against liberals instead of criticizing them on more intellectual levels it actually makes you conservatives look bad.

Let me get this straight, we're expected to refute an ad hominem without using an ad hominem attack?

Anyone who writes a book, half of which involves trying to prove intelligent design, has no intellect to speak of. Sorry if that's ad hominem.

Assassination is kind of extreme, I was kind of hoping she would just waste away. Or maybe the weight of her adam's apple would break her own neck or something like that. But assassination? We liberals are peaceful, remember?

Sorry, but all I had to do was read the cover of that book, to realize that I want nothing to do with whatever hateful garbage is inside. She is a hateful, vile, and divisive person, and she contributes nothing to bringing people together, or making this country a better place for all to live. She is not a spreader of light, she is a spreader of hate and darkness...and I cannot imagine many people more Godless than she is! *sm*

The biggest flaw with the book is her attack on the 9-11 widows. She claims they can't be challenged, and yet, she's challenging them. Where's the logic?
The problem with Ann Coulter is that she's a very smart person with wrong ideas, and her book really puts that across.
