Does Islamist knows who they facing or are they clueless?

Question

The West win the First, the Second and the Cold War.

I'm not talking about the United State alone, but all the Western civilisation. Does the Islamist really think they have a chance?

Are the faithful manipulated into thinkig they have a chance?

Why the leaders of the Muslim world still sending faithful to the front knowing they will be no gain?

Are they profinting in some way, monetary or anything else?

The biggest enemy of the West and biggest Ally to the Muslims are the LEFT.

Even if there were no Islam, the Left would eventually bring down civilization on their own.

But teamed up with Muslims, the left can bring the West down 100 times faster.

Yes they think they have a chance. Much of the leadership of these Islamic fundamentalists are the same ones that opposed the Russian invasion of Afghanistan for 20 years through a guerrilla war that eventually saw the Russian withdraw and left the fundamentalist Taliban in power. Unlike the west they are not out for a quick victory. To them victory could take generations (and they will keep this fight up for generations of they have to).

No gain? Almost 6 years after 9/11 we in the west are still living with the fear of that attack, and the possibility of another like it. That type of fear is exactly what the terrorists are out to create, and the fact that we are still living in fear of that type of attack 6 years later suggests that they have made exactly the gains they set out to make with the 9/11 attacks.

Of course they are profiting. It's always the warlords that get rich off a war.

I think your analysis needs some work. Yes, the west won the wars you mention. But they continue trying to use the same strategy when it doesn't work, as was seen in Vietnam, and as we are seeing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The US has already been at war in Iraq for longer than World War II lasted. Would you say they are winning? Radical Islam could ask for no greater gift than the war in Iraq. It focuses hatred on the enemy, it provides a rallying point for recruiting, and it shows how terribly vulnerable the west is to guerilla war. The west can never win a war like this, no matter how much money they spend or how many troops die.

The leaders of the Muslim world are not the ones sending the faithful to the front. These Salafist Jihadists are true believers in a doctrine which says its time to get rid of the Jahili world of decadence and corruption and replace it with Dar-Al-Islam (the World of Islam) where people will follow the will of God and not give allegiance to earthly rulers.
Are the leaders of this movement profitting from it? Probably. Even some of the Grand Wizards of the Ku Klux Klan probably made money from the sale and laundering of all those bed sheets.

Never underestimate them....Saddam faced off with Iran and he had all the firepower of the US and human flesh was the victor...you have to remember that the "West" as you see it, do not see the Middle East in the same light as Americans...and as Israel knows, anything short of complete obliteration of the enemy, will not control the Muslim extremists...and it also has to be understood that they believe that they are fighting evil for a peoples while America is fighting their perception of evil in the name of corporate America and the peoples may just wake up and support the perceived enemy...so I guess what I am saying is that based on the present scenario, there will be no winners but the military machine industries.

I think radical fundamentalist terrorists do know who they are facing. They are facing a West with wide open borders, deceptive and confused leadership, and a people more interested in consumer electronics than politics.

This is not your grandpa's war. It won't be fought on French beaches or in front of the Berlin wall. It is a guerrilla war with an enemy we cannot see or even identify.

Will the West win it? That remains to be seen.

I think they are well aware of what they are facing. They know how powerful we are, that's why they don't try to out power us militarily, but simply attack us with anti-western propaganda, suicide attacks, and guerrilla warfare. Other than the suicide bombings, that's how the US gained it's independence from Great Brittain. The tides turned in that war once we started using hit and run tactics. the Extremists also know that the West doesn't have the gut to stay and fight. So they know if they stick it out long enough, we will leave and victory will be declared. Besides, they are used to their violent ways, that's all they know.

Many of them have never had what we call, "free speech". Not even stories about it. Many of them live lives of poverty that make our T.V. watching, Nintendo-playing, one car-driving, stereo-playing welfare poor look like kings and queens.

They have no access to the West. Those who are fighting us want it that way, for all of the Middle-East.

The millions of peaceful Islamic people are irrelevant, just as the peaceful Germans were, the peaceful Chinese were, the peaceful Russians were, the peaceful Japanese were.

Millions died because they were not just peaceful.

They were silent, and let others speak for them, in place of them.

Don't be so sure. If there continue to be morons here in America who think we should pacify terrorists with peace, flowers, kumbaya, and flattery, we WILL get our asses kicked. I might add, by the way, that those with the notion that all terrorists need is a little love and understanding are EXCEEDINGLY PATRONIZING and if I were a terrorist, I would go for them first.
