I'm an American Indian, 100%. And I have always known what my Name is, Twobears. How I got this name is still unknown, specifically, who gave it to me. In my Tribe (The De'naina of the Black Raven Clan) a bear is a great thing to be. Of all the animals to be, a Bear is a great provider, very attentive to his mate and even more so to his off-spring. They have only one mate in their life, despite what the Pro's say, only one. The larger the Bear the greater in size their territory and they will defend that area to their death.
A Bear will bellor and the area where ever it is heard is thier territory, in other words as far as it can be heard, is theirs. It is also a way to call a spouse, ward off preditors (Actually a Bear has none, except for humans). I have been in the bush at night, when a huge Kodiak has bellored and it sent chills down my back. On the funny side, they constantly grumble, but if you see their size, you'll understand why they grumble, it can hurt to be that big and tiresome.
My Mother was Tribal Shaman and she would always say that I grumble too much and then laugh. She was left with a crippled right leg after suffering Tuberculosis back in the 40's, but all 5 of us boys were big. She got a kick out of the times we would carry her, she was so small, about 4'8" tall and 90 lbs if that. My "Baby Brother" is about 6 feet tall and about 350 lbs and he's the "Baby".........yeah....right!! My Mother had a pet Grzzily when she was a girl in Alaska, I wonder?????
