I'm not running for cover... But like you, I live in an area that receives the damaging winds, rains, and tons of tornadoes from these things.

Last year, went by like a breeze. Nothing (although, the global warming cult told us otherwise), last year. If we get hit with one this year, I wonder if it will be blamed on global warming or if it will be contributed to normality. We anticipate them every year.

Having been through five hurricanes, I think they're all pretty devastating if you get caught in their path.

No, it's not Bush's fault. LOL. But I hopes he handles the next aftermath of a major hurricane a tad bit better than he handled Katrina.

Yes, if in a hurricane's path, run for cover. I remember a comedian once seeing a guy on tv saying he wasn't heading for cover because he was in good physical shape and could handle 150 mph winds. The response: "Listen pal, it isn't that the wind IS blowing, it's WHAT the wind is blowing. The fact you can do 100 pushups isn't going to help very much if a Volvo gets thrown on top you!"

Hope everyone gets spared this season. An empty hope probably, but I wish it nevertheless...

Yes, it does. We all know there were no hurricanes or extreme weather until January 20, 2001, when evil Bush came into power. Since then, our pristine lands and waters have become polluted. And for the first time ever, it became risky to live on a silt island below sea level (imagine that!).

Hey it appears that CNN may just have found one....they tried in vane last year to conjure up a spell to turn the only depression they could find into a hurricane....and you know, I think it is time you Americans stopped making light of Bush...he has done more damage to the once proud nation than any hurricane could...the best thing that could ever happen is one huge one hit Kennebuncport (spelling?) and the nation response team would be back into full action like it should have been after Katrina.

My favorite example of sellective use of Hurricanes was by the Global Warming alarmists the year of Katrina. We had 17 Hurricanes that year that hit the US. They all pointed to this as proof of global warming. The next year, we had exactly 0 Hurricanes hit the US. Then they started saying that Hurricanes are not an indicator of Global Warming.

If GW is supposedly going to increase the power of hurricanes, it will then increase the power of tropical depressions, which would lead to more tropical storms. Again, GW, acting indiscriminately, will also increase the power of tropical storms, which WOULD lead to more hurricanes. So, it is fair to look at all tropical activity as either a sign of, or the lack of a sign pointing to GW. You can't have it both ways.

Frankly, I've been relieved by the lack of activity this year, as well as last year. But need to keep a good eye on the activity coming off the coast of Africa right now...

is this a defensive technique? trying to play down the facts of situations by assuming others blame it all on Bush? Does this mean you are finally coming to terms with the realities of global warming? if so I'll let you get out with dignity and pay no attention to the distractions of blame.

Not cute. Bush does enough wrong without pretending that people who see him honestly make up nonsense about him.

But Global Warming means not more hurricanes, but more powerful ones. I hope you live on the Gulf Coast so one will wipe the sneer off your face.

The word prove is used too much by people that do not know how to use it. It essentially has no meaning anymore.
