If you don't know the answers to those questions, then you are not old enough, or atleast not mature enough, to have sex.

"What should we do before hand?"
If either of you has had sex with somene else before, get tested for STDs. Choose a contraception to use- condoms would probably be the easiest for you to get, plus they're the only thing that protects against STDs and not just pregnancy. Read the instructions on the box ahead of time so you will know how to put on the condom correctly- if you use it wrong, effectiveness goes way down.
"Does it hurt a lot?"
I can't answer this from experience yet, but women usually hurt the first time. It will not hurt for your bf.
"Is it safe to do when I'm on my period?"
If by "safe'' you mean "no baby," no it is not safe. The "rhythm method" is very unreliable. So is the "pull out method." They really aren't methods at all! That's why you need to investigate real contraception first. But physically yes it's safe.

1) Before hand educate yourself about STD's, STI's, and pregnancy. Make sure you know how to protect yourself. I hear about so many kids getting pregnant and saying they don't understand how it happened because they used to pull out method or the guy didn't ejaculate but you can still get pregnant doing these things. STD's and STI's are a huge topic now. Each year 12 million new cases of HIV are reported and 1/4 of those are teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 years old. Just think that between this period of time 60 million teenagers will contract HIV alone. At least half of the worlds population has had and STD/ STI at some point in their life. It's easy to worry about pregnancy because you see people everyday with kids and it reminds you that pregnancy is a risk but what you don't see are those walking around with clamydia, gonorhea, HIV, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B, HPV, and syphilis, Make sure you know how to protect yourself from these and don't take anyones word that they don't have an STD or STI because most people with AID's, Herpes, or other conditions don't find out right away. Always look out for you.
2) I'm not going to lie but it hurts a litte at first. It's very uncomfortable and very messy.
3) It isn't the safest to do during your period because the tissue inside your body is sensative and is full of bacteria from your uteral lining being flushed. I would not recommend it.

I don't know what state you live in, and you aren't saying how old you and the boyfriend are... In some states, such as Texas, the legal age that a girl can consent to have sex is 17. If your bf is 3 or more years older than you, and you are caught, he can face sexual assault charges. Legalities aside, I'll try to answer a few questions for you. What should be done before hand?-- First and foremost, make sure you are both ready to take this serious step. Take some quiet time and ask yourself WHY you want to give yourself to your boyfriend. If you feel that you are going to have sex simply because all your friends have "done it", or he is pressuring you, then you are not doing this for the right reason, and will eventually lead to you have serious self-esteem issues later. If you feel that you ARE ready to take this step, and for the RIGHT reason, then please, use protection! Don't depend on your boyfriend to bring condoms... always keep your own. Condoms are the best protection against HIV and other STD's. (Teen pregnancy is almost accepted in today's society, but teenage AIDS is tragic!) Does it hurt alot?? -- That depends. If your boyfriend takes the time to arouse you properly and is gentle, it won't hurt ALOT... if you are a virgin, you will experience some discomfort. Don't expect to experience mind shattering climax... at your age, boys don't know what it takes to please a woman... Is it safe when you are having your period? by that do you mean can you have sex? The answer to that is yes, but don't think that having sex while you are having your period prevents pregnancy, it doesn't. Use PROTECTION REGARDLESS. Having sex on your period is very messy, but if he and you don't mind, it's ok... Other than that, keep in mind a few things: Abstinence is the only 100% effective way to prevent pregnancy and diseases. Girls need a reason to have sex, guys just need a place. Guys brag to their friends about their sexual conquests and their friends tell their girlfriends, and so on and so on and so on. Giving yourself to your boyfriend is the most precious gift you can give him.... MAKE SURE HE IS WORTH IT!

ok first off, many people think they are old enough to have sex (12 yr olds are pregant b.c they thought they were old enough) if ur asking these questions chances are ur not old enough. to answer them anyway,
beforehand
-get tested for STDs (just to be safe)
- get on birth control for at least 2 weeks
- buy condoms
- understand the consequences of unprotected sex
- AND if u get pregnant make sure ur bf will be ther for you in the event that u are pregnant and dont want an abortion
does it hurt?
- some women say it hurts the first time b.c of the tearing of a membrane called the hymen inside the vagina
- some women get vaginal bleeding after a tearing of the hymen from a few spots to a flow like a period
- and some say it hurts just b.c ur having sex
is it safe?
- it is never safe to have sex at anytime
- but if u must always use protection
- even if you are on ur period you can get pregnant
- you can never predict when ur body will or will not release an egg
- get on birth control
- stay on it
- use a condom
- understand the consequences of getting pregnant and of unprotected sex

You need to see a doctor to get started on birth control and stock up on condoms. As far as foreplay, I am not answering that since I feel you may be too young to be doing it in the first place. Just research foreplay so you guys will know what to do. As far as it hurting it will the first few times. You may even bleed a little. There is no such thing as safe sex. Unless you remain a virgin until you get married and you marry a virgin. But there are ways to have safer sex. No matter if you are on birth control or not you need to ALWAYS wear a condom. Pregnancy is devastating but so is catching a std.

Those are only a few things you should think about. If you are old enough to have sex, you should also consider..
~are you old enough and mature enough to be a parent (no birth control is 100%)
~any concerns of an STD
~ok so you are old enough are you emotional mature enough to deal with the mental part (hurts way worse then the physical)
*before hand you should answer the above questions, make sure you are protected, and I think you should be married
*yes it hurts both physically and mentaly
*Yes but you can still get pregnant

first off... if you don't fully understand sex, you should reconsider. But heres what you need to do. Get put on birth control before having sex (about 1 month in advance). It takes the pill one month or pack to get in your system. Buy some condoms. Make sure he uses them. Have him finger you before having sex, it helps loosin you up so it won't hurt as bad. And some women say it hurts and some say it doesn't. It just depends on the person. It is safe to do while your on your period, but most guys won't.

You should be on birth control- if you don't want to get it with your parents or you can't pay for it, you can get it cheap or for free at Planned Parenthood. Also- use a condom, use a condom, use a condom! I can't stress that enough. And yes, it will hurt some- make sure your boyfriend is gentle.
I would wait for marriage to do it with somebody you really love. I didn't and regretted that I couldn't give my virginity to my husband when I got married. But, hey, your decision. Make sure you do it safely though!

what should we do before hand? WEAR PROECTION!!! (not just birth control but use a condom as well)
make sure you let him know if something is NOT ok for him to do (kiss you or touch you some where)
does it hurt a lot? it may ... go slow ... if you are confortable (and horney) the juices will flow and it wont hurt as much
is it safe to do when im on my period?
no (as a means of birth control) ... its safe, but quite messy ... I would suggest NOT doing it while on your period ... at least not yet :)
