I was kind of wondering this, and because we may not win at everything and we need certain things to be comfortable, that if you have to compete for it, then it was not meant for you. I suppose this would be consistent with the saying that "if it was meant for you then it will be for you." So, then is it futile to compete when maybe we should be finding the things that we don't have to compete for, the job that is just right for us, or the mate that is right for us.

I don't think I go along with that. I think competition is healthy and keeps us at the top of our game. Keeps our mind stimulated and gives us drive. I do believe however that what will be will be. And that certain things are meant for certain people. But it might be that we are meant to compete and that we are meant to lose or win. It's all part of the process that makes us who we are.

You failed to prepare for the meal. Are you going to eat?

You fail to get better grades for the right training for the job you want, OOPS -
that job is not going to be yours,
you must go to McD's or Wendy's instead the Steakhouse because your budget is smaller.

You only drive the vehicle you can afford to drive, yet some people pay more in insurance than some pay in car payments. You have to be prepared.

You get a bigger house in the USA because you have more money to spend.
You make less, you find a smaller house, less land, or none, to cut the grass. Apartments/condos, taxes to spend, or pay none. Satisfaction, or smugness. Security, or on the edge.
NOTICE, not that you earned the money.

If YOU are not in the right location, then "fate" would have you not meeting the right mate.

Raise your standards, fix your budget or time where you want to be.

in the '70's and '80's we went to Europe on $25 per day. For 2 people. Do you dare try that today? Go for it... not!

If one is not prepared for athletics, then you will not earn million dollar contracts. Give up, and live on the streets.

Several books, magazines about people with little study attaining great wealth. They were prepared to take an idea and make themselves successful.

Not competition. Just a better idea. Competition refines the product. To get a raise you must produce for your boss. You can grunt and sweat for $7.25 per hour, or turn a wrench for $20.00 per hour. Get training.

I think competition can be over done. The ultimate competition is war and few are for that. What do you intend I understand in the statements ending in, "...then it was not meant." and, "...Then it was not meant for you." Whose will is determining this meaning? Or is it just "fate" that determines meaning? I don't think anything is "meant to be" implying some higher will or authority sanctioned it.

When competition is done for fun, like in a child's ball game or an adults card game it is healthy. When "push comes to shove" and competition is done for gain or survival then it can become pathological. We live in a highly competitive society where competition often becomes a pathological obsession. Cooperation makes much more sense to me in many cases.

Good "luck", good health, peace and love!

I think sometime people get to caught up in what they think they want. Lets use a crush or a love interest for example, I think people alot of the time think they "love" that person, that they have to be together which is why they try so hard for it to happen. People will do anything to get that person, when truelly it's the "idea" of that person and that relationship that they're in love with. In love with being in love. I think we waste alot of time chasing the things that aren't even right for us anyway. But...

Maybe thats what humans are hardwired for, to look for the things they think will fulfill them instead of just letting it be, going with the flow. And how would we learn any of the lessons we have learned from those situations where we chased something not so good for us and when we finally got it eventually we realized it wasn't right. We learn lessons from that, what we shouldn't look for and what we should.

So I think yes, "If you have to compete for something, then it was not meant" but nevertheless, I think we have to compete for those things, it is our design to look for the things we THINK will fulfill us.

I don't agree because with this kind of thinking either you'll expect to win every competition OR you won't bother competing at all. Neither is healthy. I believe IF it's meant to be - then it will be, but you gotta try.

There is no truth in this statement - Life is a consistent struggle and one must not stop striving to achive.
