It's almost an unfair question because although Gandhi was very influential he wasn't a leader as such. And to say the British capitulated because of American influence is nonsense. World opinion, thanks to Gandhi, was against them but also they had their hands full rebuilding their own country.
Jinnah was a political leader and has singular credit for the separation of Pakistan but many believe the Muslims and Hindus lived together peacefully prior to the division.
An important thing to remember is prior to British rule India was a collection of Sultanates not a unified country. So no matter what the outcome creation of India or India and Pakistan, it was an experiment.
And thanks for spotting my typo.

well sister as i am a PAKISTANI so my answer will be in favour of JINNAH
but if u do an analysis without taking a side than my vote will again go to JINNAH as Gandhi asked for a thing which england was to give (i mean independence of sub continent) bcoz of pressure from america but JINNAH got a thing which nobody included britain america or hindus wanted (i mean a seprate homeland for the muslims of subcontinent) so my vote will go towards JINNAH
