I don't understand the connection between premonitions and empathy. Premonitions cannot be controlled. It is something that happens unexpectedly either in a dream or within a thought process. Empathy is an emotion so of course it exists...

There are a ton of documented and authenticated examples of "sibling empathy" - usually between twins - cases where, for example, living miles apart, one twin will suddenly be stricken with a severe pain in the abdomen, and discover only much later that the other twin was rushed to hospital for an emergency appendectomy. Medical archives are loaded with such cases.
As for premonitions, there are plenty of documented cases of that too. There is absolutely no doubt whatsover, that humans have only scratched the surface of "the unknown" when it comes to the transmission of information by methods outside of the normal five senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. Again, a lot of documentation about the behaviour of wild animals prior to a natural disaster like earthquake, tidal wave, hurricane etc. etc. They "know"...... In my own home, after living with dogs for more than thirty years, I have always had a ton of experience of it with the family pets. Before my husband retired, regular as clockwork, the guys all stopped whatever they were doing, or got up from where they were lying, and trooped into the bedroom at the same time, to look out the window..... or they'd stroll down to the front gates and stare down the highway. Suuuure enough within twenty minutes' time, husband would be turning in the driveway with the car.
There is nothing our guys love more than riding in the pickup, and we take them with us as often as we can. They not only "know" when we are planning on going out somewhere - even if we hadn't said a word about it since the night before - but they also seem to know when they are, or are not going to be invited to come with us. The behaviour is totally different and we are familiar with it through years of observing it.
We do not know yet how animals seem to "know" the things they clearly do know ahead of time. Nor are we close to understanding how it is that some people appear to have special abilities in this. There is a lot of research going on quietly, and some day we may have a way to develop these abilities and harness them for many good purposes (bad ones too, unfortuntely, but that's the yin and yang of everything)

Yes premonitions and empathy are as real as you are.
one can not control premonitions or empathy it is a gift you have learn to live with and that is not an easy task. some times your up and some times your down a lot deepens on how the person is feeling to weather or not they can use their gift effectively.this ability is like a window it can be open or it can be closed .

Yes people can. I have before. I can control my empathy by blocking/shielding myself from it. As for premonitions I don't have them all the tell. Just often enough that I know to pay attention.
Geesh if I had it all the time there wouldn't be a point on living if I knew everything. That would suck!!

Yes, absolutely. Personally, I have experienced both premonitions and had fore-telling dreams. For example, I was driving REALLY fast down the highway and suddenly had an uncontrolable urge to slow down. A second later, a German Shephard ran out into the highway infrom of me. The premonition saved my life as well as the dogs.
Another example was the night before my 16th birthday. I dreamed that my girlfriend was going to break up with me. The next day. It happened.
There are many other personal examples I could site, too.
If a person wants to deveolp this psychic muscle, I recommend learning to meditate. Going deep into relaxation WITHOUT going to sleep and learning to ground and ceter oneself will assist in this.

Well, a premonition is knowing something is going to happen before it does...and empathy is understanding how someone feels as in "sympathy"....but empathy is being able to understand someones feelings from a personal and/or shared experience.
The two have little to do with each other...as far as in you CAN have one without the other.
I can empathize with you..and I predict you will get a lot of idiotic answers.
Point proven.

May be premonition is receiving information on sub-consience level and could be cultivated to clair-voyance.
As to empathy - everyone is empath, some use this feelings /physical and mental/ synchronisation in business, in everyday relations etc. and there are also people educated in empathy theory and practices for healing but also for manipulating-this depends on the practionaire.
Many books on chakras explain very good the empathy.

There *may* be something to premonitions but the majority of the time it's due to other factors and mostly unreliable. Empathy is often fueled by picking up on subtle (or not so subtle) body language indicators. I suggest watching "Mind Control" on SciFi, the guy is an amazing "body reader" and the show is a good illustration of how easily the human mind is manipulated.

Yes. There is simply too much evidence that proves the validity of mediums and psychics. I don't think it's just them, though. My cousin said some times during her life she'd hear a voice. The first time it said, "You are going to have a brother," and she did. The second time was when she met her husband and the voice said, "This boy will be your first kiss, you will lose your virginity to him, and you will marry him." All three things happened.
I could go on and on about premonitions people have had. I believe in the occult--it doesn't dominate my life, but when it happens, I give it the respect it deserves.

Of course these exist. Premonitions aren't controlled; they just come to you - they're different to ESP and clairvoyance, which you can tune into. Empathy is very difficult to control and it's a curse for the one who has it, as it makes it too hard to handle living in society.
