No state income tax in Texas, no city tax either, federal taxes would be the same as they were wherever you lived previously, property taxes would depend on the house you bought. I've attached a link to property taxes for Dallas/surrounding area.

Don't let ANYONE tell you there are no taxes in TX! (Some wags might call Massachusetts "Taxachusetts" but Texas is truly "Taxa$$."

There's no INCOME tax in TX. Property taxes on the other hand are INSANELY high and sales taxes average over 8%.

Figure that you'll pay 3.5% - 5% of the FMV of your home in property taxes. So for a $200,000 home in Dallas you'll be looking at $7,000 - $10,000 in property taxes annually.

I used to live in TX, just outside San Antonio. The property taxes on my old place there are more than the combined property taxes and income taxes here in MO!
