If I read your question correctly, and these guys are in your tree's, you have tent catepillars. I have found that wasp spray will kick them into the next world. Plus the ready to spray cans shoot up to 20'. Make sure you try to remove the webbing if possible because that part of the tree that is webbed will not come back. Bayer also makes a shrub and tree product which contains a pesticide called merit, that is poured onto the ground and obsorbed through the roots thereby protecting the tree from anything that eats it (home depot has it). I dont like using synthetics whenever possible, but thats the only two options that i have found to work.

I work for a nationwide lawn care company, and we use a product called Talstar One to control sod webworms, chinch bugs, and other pesty surface insects. It also works great for earwigs (yuck), centipedes, fleas, ticks, etc. Look for it, or something similar, at your home and garden store.
If you have a lawncare service doing your fertilization and weed control, call them, because many of those services will provide free insect control for surface-feeding, turf damaging insects.
Sod webworms are the larvae of those white moths you probably see flying around your yard on occasion. The moths are harmless, but their larvae is not. Also, keep you lawn watered (1-2" per week) and mowed at about 3" or higher. That will help keep your lawn healthy, and you will get less insects.

Go to your lawn and garden store (even Lowe's or Home Depot). They have a spray you can use that will kill the worms but won't harm the tree any more than the worms have.

Use a pesticide that is recommended for any type of trees. One of the best I have ever used is Ortho. You can purchase it in the lawn and garden section of Wal-Mart or Lowe's for around 10.00.

There are sprays you can get for that. They will shoot to about 20 feet or so. They should be around where the wasp sprays and insecticides are. And they will come in a cannister that looks like a wasp spray can.
