I would have to say Sept 11th, 2001. It put fear into my heart, that was never there before. I will never forget the phone calls to family members, waiting, hoping... fearing the worst. Even though everyone I knew made it out, I feel a strong connection to all the victims of that day. And like many I will never forget.

The worst day of my life was the day I found out that my 20 year old brother-in-law had committed suicide. My husband and I were out of town, and his mom was about an hour up the road from us, on vacation, as well. It was up to us to get to her and tell her what had happened. It was by far the worst thing...having to tell someone that their son is dead. I will never forget that day. To make it even harder, my mother-in-law is probably my best friend, so not only was it hard watching my hubby and my mother-in-law deal with it, but watching two people I care so much about have to deal with something so tragic was horrible.

That was six years ago, and I still get teary thinking about it.

Had a few of those....one was when I suspected my then partner was having an affair; he denied and denied, but I just knew....I found a letter from the girl he was having an affair with - she obviously knew nothing about me....telling him how much she loved him.
It was like being kicked in the stomach.

My other worst day was when I miscarried my last child; I was almost 45, and I knew that was it; my last chance gone. I cried for three days.

The day I lost my husband. He and his mother were both sick. I spent our two years of married life tending to them both. His mom finally succumbed to heart failure on Aug 25, 2006. We had her service at my house on Sept. 2 as my husband was confined to his bed by then. On Sept 4, 2006 the strain of it all finally broke my husband's will and he died as well. (same day the crocodile hunter died.) I guess that really makes it the worse 10 days I ever had, but it all culminated on the 4th.

I've had two worst days, when my parents died and also the day we buried them - almost a decade apart but those days will always stand out as the worst.

The day my partner died, you know it's going to be bad but nobody tells you just how bad until it happens and living with the images in your head seemingly for the rest of your life. Not just one day I'm afraid but many.

Worse day for me was when I discovered that if you don't eat anything you lose weight. That was about ten years ago and now I'm stuck in a vicious cycle of bingeing and starving. And my metabolism is seriously f***ed.
