would the aftermarket chrome pipes affect blue book value of a bike ??

It all depends upon the kind of bike and who's buying it. If it's a Gold Wing, a prospective buyer surely plans to tour on it and straight pipes would detract from the value. Screamin' Eagle pipes on a non-dresser Harley is going to increase it's value. My advice is to put whatever you want on it but save the old pipes. That gives a prospective buy the option of either (or both).
