Everyone should be forgiven when they really are sorry. Real forgivness is when you totally have no more hard feelings on someone and have forgotten completely that they ever did anything wrong to you, means that you also talk to them as if they were ur friends for a very long time and nothing ever happened.

There is only forgiveness, no "real" forgiveness. For if it were not real, then it would not be forgiveness at all. Forgiveness is letting someone Else's mistake that may or may not of intentionally hurt or harmed you, (your family, your friends, etc) become remembered for the wisdom you gained from it. Nothing is forgotten, but it is releasing the person who committed the mistake from any resentment and/or hate, that you may have had for them.

Yes, I believe everyone should be forgiven, time and time again if need be.

Forgiveness:

The act of pardoning an offender; ceasing to feel resentment toward him because of his offense and giving up all claim to recompense. The Hebrew verb sa·lach′ (forgive) is used only with regard to God’s pardoning a sinner. The Greek term a·phi′e·mi literally means “let go off.”

And who should be forgiven... Well here is Gods requirements:

God has a required way for seeking and receiving his forgiveness. A person must acknowledge his sin, recognize that it is an offense against God, confess it unqualifiedly, have a deep heartfelt sorrow for the wrong done, and have a determination to turn from such a course or practice. He must do what he can to right the wrong or damage done. Then he must pray to God, asking for forgiveness on the basis of Christ’s ransom sacrifice.

Ephesians 1:7 By means of him we have the release by ransom through the blood of that one, yes, the forgiveness of [our] trespasses, according to the riches of his undeserved kindness.

"Forgiveness is giving up trying to change the past."

Before forgiving, you might be beating yourself up. Maybe you or someone else could have done somethign to prevent it. Maybe if the offender was different than what he/she was.

Giving up trying to change the past also means you accept it. You know it happened, and you know that it can't be changed. It does NOT mean forgeting the event. That is NOT accepting it and the cease of trying to change it. Instead you are trying to change it by making it never happen at all! But it did, acept it, don't ignore or erase it.

Now to the "should everyone be forgiven?" Since we are using "shoulds" the answer is NO. Because, as stated above, forgiveness is the cease of trying to change the past. What SHOULD happen, is we should never try to change the past (because it is impossible), which would mean there is no forgiveness (you can't stop doing what you never did). But in the event that you are in need to forgive, than you should. The desire to change the past is a path with no (achievable)end/goal. The only way to end it is to forgive.

No, there is no real but only conditional forgiveness!

Say, for example, my net worth is US$ 1,000,000. Someone break into my house and stole my laptop worth US$1500 and attempted to sell the same. However the buyer recognized the item and arrested the thief.

Would I forgive him for stealing my laptop?

Well, maybe no but with a net worth of US$ 1,000,000 and the reason that the item was recovered is sufficient for me to conditionally forgive that man.

How about if on the event of stealing my laptop, a family member is harmed? Well, maybe I won't forgive him and make sure he goes to jail!

It means your heart is open to the person who is forgiven, but your eyes are open too.
Sorry, but I don't see the distinction between a person and "their ego." Either you forgive that person or you are not ready to do that yet. Forgiveness is not a license to let them run all over you again.
If you can forgive everyone - including yourself - then fine and great, but it is different for every person.

to me Real Forgiveness is not just an act, it's a process. depending on the severity of the misdeed the process can include getting mad, breaking down, and even holding a grudge...until you get over all those feelings of hurt and anger i don't believe it's possible to REALLY forgive someone.
and yes...everyone should be forgiven, eventually.

Everyone should be forgiven so that you yourself no longer has to carry the anger around in your heart. BUT, forgiveness does not mean forgetting who the person is who harmed you. If you forget who he or she is, you set yourself up for being hurt again.

Real forgiveness is when we can set ourselves free from the feelings of hurt that we hold about someone.
It is not about everyone being forgiven or not, it is if we are able to let go of our side of the hurt.
