Legitimate companies who do a criminal background check or credit check will advise you in advance that they are doing the check. They will have you sign a specific form that discusses your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If they do not hire you based on the report, they are required to tell you where they got the information and provide you with the address and phone number of the reporting agency so that you have the opportunity to correct any errors.

Since they don't tell you that your credit history stopped you from consideration, I suspect that there are other reasons you are not being hired. How do you dress for interviews? What is your attitude during the interview? How do you sit? How enthusiastic do you appear? How is your grammar? How neat is your resume, cover letter, and application? Did you follow the directions in the ad when applying for the job? How firm is your handshake? Did you make eye contact? Are you asking intelligent questions about the job during the interview? Are you being honest about your interest in the job and the company?

It is hard sometimes to get a job. Good luck

Not all jobs require a clean credit history. Most will require a better grasp of English than your question demonstrates. "U" for "You" will not do. How you dress and how much metal you have on you may also affect your being hired. Ask an older person to evaluate how you appear to a potential employer.

You can file bankruptcy. It does not sound like you would have a problem with Chapter 7, but it may not be advisable if you don't owe too much and are just getting into the job market. You may have to shop around to find a lawyer you can afford. You may qualify for waiver of the filing fee ($299) and the fee for the credit counseling (usually $45-50).

If you think you are being discriminated against because of your finacial situation, file a complaint with what ever board or branch of government that handles fair job and hiring practices.

You have not mentioned where you are and what type of work you have been applying for.

Good Luck

Lots of people think that once they’ve filed for bankruptcy they will be unable to ever get a loan again, and ultimately they are unable to do anything financial ever again. This isn’t always true, there arewill help to improve your credit history in a number of different ways.

I have horrible credit and I still have no trouble getting jobs. I guess it depends what field you are in. Also, filing for bankruptcy will not fix your credit, but at least you won't have any more debt.
