Call the theatre and find out. As a rule, no, but once you get to call-backs, you may be given a scene or monologue to study overnight (read, "memorize"!). With musicals, use a similar song from another show, hopefully by the same composer. In other words, audition for Oklahoma using a song from South Pacific, King and I, or Carousel. For TV and commercials you almost always use a scene from the show being auditioned for

Do you mean use a monologue from the show you are auditioning for?

I make it a rule of thumb to NOT do a scene or a song from the show I am auditioning for and here is why: the director has a very definite vision of the character, and your version may clash with that vision.

Are you "allowed" to? Check with the theatre before auditioning. "Should" you? In my opinion, no.
