As an American, who has directed your National Anthem numerous times as a bandleader in the US Navy, I would suggest that your Anthem is one of the greatest of all nations. To change or modify this great Anthem would be a disservice to the history and great traditions of your country.Although not a citizen of your great country,we Americans(believe it or not) have great admiration for the customs and traditions of Great Britain. So much so that one of our most revered songs is sung, without disrespect, to the melody of God Save the Queen. Just one Americans' thoughts.

See it baffles me, when it comes to any sporting event outside the common wealth games, like football or rugby etc, Scotland plays their anthem, Wales plays theirs but England plays the British anthem, not Land Of Hope And Glory! It really irritates me!!!!

Perhaps we could revive some of the missing verses
Confound their knavish tricks
frustrate their politics
crushing the scots.....could be a bit dodgy though
Lord grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush.
God save the Queen!

we have a national anthem? well you learn something everyday, i thought only canada had a national anthem... but if we do have one then it cant be that good. maybe they should get someone famous to sing it.
but if it is god save the queen then it should be changed because i dont think it will go down very well with the king that we will eventaully have.

It is well known world wide. The Americans even use the tune for graduations! However it does sound a bit dirgy and does anyone actually know the other verses? We all know the first verse, and on occasion the third verse is sung, but why not the second? and are there any more? Incidentally, the sentiment is about the monarchy, not the incumbent.

God help the queen to save others. If she is anything like the portrayal in the movie, "The Queen", then this woman needs some real help.

It is very boring.
Land of Hope & Glory wakes you up & a true Englishman feels something within.
Queen or no Queen, its England we should concentrate on.

Not at all. I agree with the Big Yin, if the Queen needs saving, I'm all for it, and I'm sure god is just the chappie for the job!

No. Our National Anthem is the best in the world.
It should NEVER be changed. It would just be another part of our culture and traditions washed away.
NOPE. Leave it as it is.
