Education of both boys and girls has become standard.

Women have the right to vote.

Slavery was abolished.

Young children no longer work in Massachusetts mills. (Actually nearly no one works in Massachusetts mills. Now young children work in mills in other parts of the world.)

Transportation has changed radically.
