Depends on how fast you learn and if you have driven before. Some people pass it in a 7 lessons, and some pass it after 37 lessons. Just depends on the individual and how ready he is for the test. It took me around 21 lessons to pass and i passed first time.

One year , I had about 35 lessons and I passed first time - okay , I was 36 at the time and had never driven a car before I started lessons

Started to learn the week I turned 17 in May 1978, failed first test December 78, failed second test June 79, passed on third attempt November 79.......I suppose it would have helped if I had had 'proper' lessons before my first two tests instead of Da teaching me!

Without sounding like a complete tool, I passed first time..... although I really thought I'd failed! An articulated wagon completley blocked the road.... I thought 'this can only happen to me on my driving test'
I had to reverse into a side road (one maneuver) allow the ruddy wagon to pass, then a car was blockin the road aswel (by this time I was sweating like Eamonn Holmes in a salad bar) and I had to do the same maneuver again!!
I even had a bit of a moan at some plank who wouldnt move over to let me join a duel carrageway!
Got back to the test centre..... Passed!! Only had 3 minors! Was made up!!!!

Motorcycle: 4 one-hour lessons. Passed first time.
Car: 12 one-hour lessons. Passed first time.
H.G.V.: 4 four-hour lessons. Passed first time.

All together it took me 4 months from start to finish passing first time

I was driving illegally since I was 14 oops my birthday was on the Sunday I passed on the Monday.

One try. I went out driving for practice only three times (about a half hour each time) one week before I took the test. Before that I had never driven before.
