does anyone know any good bars with pool tables or good clubs in montreux switzerland? i am here on holiday but all i see are old people!

Montreux’s Jazz Festival – featuring world-famous artists from REM to B.B. King – takes place in early July and covers the gamut of music from around the world, these days only loosely committed to formal jazz. For tickets (Fr.40–100), check www.montreuxjazz.com well in advance; otherwise, just join the street parties and free entertainment which spring up all over town, and stay in to watch the concerts on late-night TV. Montreux’s other big jamboree is late April’s Golden Rose Television Festival (Rose d’Or), for which swarms of media folk descend on the town. The classical Festival International de Musique, at venues in Montreux and Vevey, runs through August and September; for tickets, check www.montreux-festival.com or call 021/966 80 25 well in advance.
There is lots to do in town and you will not have any problem finding friends to party with. Have fun!
