On one side there is the immigration issue which makes people angry as they see immigrants as a drain on resources and threat to English culture.

On the other side you have the long term unemployed and single mothers who refuse to work despite having school aged children. This is also a drain on resources and possibly undermines English culture as well.

Which do you think is worse?

People who think the world owes them a living, doesn't matter if they are new to the country or unmarried parents, if you don't contribute then you shouldn't collect.

Immigration is definitely a very good way of attracting talent to a country. Unfortunately this does not mean any Tom, Dick and harry can come and start living in the country!

Immigration should consider the immigrant, his immediate relatives and other relatives of the principle immigrant who have something to contribute like a degree or skill. I do not see reason for the country to let in his useless bum uncle and kids!

Do not think non-working people should be thrown out! they have a right to stay at home and look after the children. They usually do this to look after their children at a younger age and end up continuing so. We should not blame them. They did raise better cared-for kids who will contribute more to society than those who were not so well looked after.

We need working immigrants in Canada, who else is going to support the aging baby boomers in the future?!

In my opinion, the neighbour downstairs is more of a drain on our financial resources than most immigrants I know. She is single, chronically unemployed with two sons who go to elementary school. She collects welfare and proudly told me once, "I'm never going off welfare!"

Come to think of it, why should she? She gets free medication and dental care and rakes in $1,100 a month. She pays $400-$500 a month for her unheated dump, so she has quite a bit of money leftover to pay her bills, buy food and clothing, and her drugs.

Sometimes she works under the table babysitting or as an escort.

Imigration, unfortunatly this is going to make me sound like a biggot, oh well. Imigration does more then just drain the public coffers. It also erodes what it means to be English in your case. American in mine. I am not very versed in English History but in the US people imigrated here, and started to be part of our culture. Irish were still Irish and the Itallians were still Itallian but parents made sure to teach their children English, and the American way of life (i.e not slaughter lambs in the alley way) Then again Im sure that was an American way of life back then. Long story short, today imigrants come to a country and want that country to change to meet their culture. Well if you ask me, if you have no borders, language, or culture (google that phrase some time) then you are no longer a country. Hope that made some sense.

The biggest problem in UK is earlier they ruled world over, spread their wings and flew in the sky.Wherever they ruled, they never taght the way they lived in UK.Discipline that is observed in UK was not carried in their colonies. They ruled for their selfish interest. Now being in the sky their wings are getting weaker, and may fall on the ground any day.Repentance is the only way for them to live.Atleast now let them start loving all and let all live. That's salvation.

I think the people that judge and talk like they pay for all free loaders are worse really, every single persons situation are brought about by different life events of which we are unaware of unless we become familiar with the individual and here their story, then if a person assumes he has the authority to judge maybe he should do it in his head. Money or life and love?

Why increase the population of the country and eat up more attractive green space with ugly buildings?
