If you breed two guppies do the offspring look exactly like their parents, or can they have different colors, fin shapes?

They can have a wide variety of colors and fin types, as said above, depending on the genetics of the two fish involved. Usually pet shop fish have a highly varied genetic history and will throw a wide variety of colors, but almost always the typical tail type. Even in line breed guppies, it's not uncommon to see a few from each batch that don't look like the parents, but it's far more uniform than in mass produced fish.

depending on the history of the guppy, if the guppy inbred then possibly yes but if it is a mut (breeding with everyone of years of the family line)then no.
