True modesty is rare and I probably don't have it on a regular basis (if at all). False modesty stinks, and people who have it are trying to use it to cover other nasty character traits. They pretend not to want to cause you any inconvenience, then they try to manipulate you. You are supposed to trust and admire them. In fact, they just want to control you - using passive/aggressive behavior. Sorry, but it's sometimes true.

However, a truly modest person is a treasure. My father is such a person - truly modest and honest in business dealings. I am assuming that you are not referring to exposing your skin - but referring to an attitude and lifestyle that is unassuming and respectful of others.

How do you judge between true modesty and manipulation? Sometimes it's difficult unless you spend a lot of time with that person. Just go with your feelings and intuitions.

I need more of it, if I did then life would be more wounderful. I think that we all should have it because if we did then the world would be so much more peacful.
