Used to go to the same hairdresser as Prince, back in the day, before he kept his own on staff... saw him many times at First Avenue; also Dire Straits, Chuck Berry, Peter Noone, Stephane Graepelli (he gave me and my best friend flowers!), Peter Schickele (I think I spelled that right, he plays under the name PDQ Bach) and the entire Minnesota Orchestra, many times. Oh, and Sherrill Milnes, the opera star. I *saw* Placido Domingo once, fairly close up, but did not get to meet him, just saw him at the end of the hallway.

At the age of 19, I landed a wonderful job as a nurse assistant in a prestigious hospital in Dallas, Texas. I helped the nurses with the mundane jobs such as refilling water pitchers, changing sheets, assisting patients with baths/showers...
On the cardiac floor, there was an older man in one of the suites that had suffered some heart trouble. There was not a name on the placard outside the door, meaning he wanted to remain anonymous. Oh well, I thought...he must have some money in order to stay in the suite and doesn't want to be recognized. I thought he looked familiar, but not recognizable in his hospital gown.
I proceeded daily to chat with him, refresh his ice water, change his sheets and assist him in the shower...
The day he was going home, he thanked me immensely for not making a big "to-do" about who he was...ummm well, I guess I was too young at the time to realize I had not only chatted with, but BATHED George C. Scott!
