What is and what isn't alright is completely up to the individual to decide. Some guys would think this behavior is completely okay and others would think it was inappropriate. So the question is, do YOU think it's alright?
Now if you are asking in general would most guys be willing to do this, the answer is yes (providing nobody else finds out). Most people wouldn't actually consider this a gay activity (unless touching is involved) but they would naturally assume that other people would think it was gay, so they wouldn't be inclined to tell people about it. I'm sure a lot of straight guys have done this and many more would if they had the chance. Only a small percentage of guys are so homophobic or insecure that they would never consider doing this at all. But most guys are horny and stimulated by sexual things (in and around them) and at least somewhat curious about what other guys do, so this wouldn't really be a stretch to imagine.

On the contrary, I think it was more common many years ago, when boys lived most part of the life in the streets moving around in gang. Nowadays many things aren't easy or simply to do and among computers, isolation and guilty-feelings some natural and normal actions become weird or nasty even.

The poor first years had this sick initiation seremony at our school hostel where they would all gather in the bathroom. The were ask to start to masturbate at the same time and come on a biscuit. The one who comes last must eat his biscuit. Nasty!! Thank God I was spared from that embarresment!

heck what would be wrong with touching? with even having sex with one another if that is what they want? as long as it is consensual and you're both adults, i dont see anything wrong, touching or no.
