My VERY favorite is Firefox at http://www.mozilla.org (the browser)...it is in use CONSTANTLY! I'm afraid, I'm hooked.

One is Picasa2 from http://www.google.com which provides purdy peeuunee photo editing but puts on a superb slide show

OpenOffice from http://www.openoffice.org which is purdy much a full replacement for Microsoft Office
