You could argue that Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliaphobia is a word made up for the purpose. Just look at it's components for heaven's sake! Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoc... is also a word that is termed as factitious, i.e. made up for the purpose of making up a long word. Floccinaucinihilipilification (the action or habit of estimating as worthless), comes in at 29. However this word is also alleged to have been invented as a joke, if you believe Wikipedia.
