I have noticed a drop in the construction industry, across the nation it dropped by 35%. I wonder if people believe it is caused by the heat or our economy. August is usually the busiest time of year for painting and other construction trades? I know the sell of new homes is down, the building of new homes is down as well, and I herd that one mortgage company is filling for bankruptcy because so many people are late on their payments. What is going on, does anyone have any knowledge on this issue?

Variable interest rates are part of the reasons for repos and morgtage lender's woes.

Adustments in construction are always with us.
Times when builders over build. After adjustments, they are underbuilt. Then construction rises again.

The economy stinks right now. People can't afford to have other people do construction/painting work for them. If they need something done they are resorting to doing it themselves.
