Because last year I chopped the tip of my finger off and there doesn't really seem to be any lines there.

Fingerprints should not be affected to any great extent.
Partial prints can still be identified.

why do u do that?

For me, i dont think that the fingerprint would be different no matter what u do, unless u chop all ur finger and u wont have any left finger, so there will be no more fingerprint.

The finger prints are the ridges and whorls on your finger tips and they won't appear anywhere else,of course your palms have the same thing.
Third degree burns will replace your finger prints with scar tissue.

I think that cutting off your finger could change your fingerprint. but I think thier should be lines there. Try consulting your doctor.
