Lol, you would be surprised. Alot of people collect comic books about super heroes from their child hood. A lot of adults like to collect special editions and rare comic books of their super heroes. It isn't just for little kids. Also, think about who writes those comics.

Well go into a store that specializes in comics. You'll see that most of the customers are adults. And really that's what comics are marketed to and where the money is made. If you were to read a comic you would see that many of them have very adult themes and stories, violence, sex, bad langage, ect.

To people that know comics they are not just some cartoony funny book, but more like storyboards for a movie. The writers of these comics are sci-fi, horror, and fiction novelists, movie directors and writers, tv producers, etc.

Did you think Sin City, Barb Wire, Ghost World, Constantine, 300, Aliens Vs Predator, Blade, The Crow, Tales From the Crypt, The Punisher, From Hell, and V for Vendetta were kid movies? All were based on a comic book.

As for being for boys... do some research on Comic Conventions and check out the pictures of the female fans. It's like Halloween! They dress very revealing and sexy.

When super heroes started in the late 1940's they were not so well endowed! Look at original Batman and Superman the were flat looking! During the Silver age they grew more exact! Then those reading were now the Baby boomer that missed them! Now the brats out there have them almost nude and having Sex on the pages! Art work is GREAT but the story lines are weak!

well on average boys dont bother looking at the crotch. and if you wasnt so fixxed on super hero genitals you would notice that the female super heroes have rather large breasts and also wear the tight uniforms. boys dont normaly look at that stuff anyways if they are into comics its for the art and they are fun to read for them cause they get a visual of whats going on in the story.

Because even Disney in mostly good ways tries to get something in to make the adults look because they are the ones with the money and they buy. In Disney movies like Bug's life etc. They always put a hidden adult agenda in it to subliminally get adults into it because they pay to get in to the movies see ?

I also thought Burton went to far giving Batman's armor pecs. can you please tell me what the HELL pectorals have to do with fighting crime??? now with Wonder Woman the answer is obvious but Batman's armor is sacred! no crotch, no pecs, nothing gay seeming at all! and forget the robin insinuations, that's supposed to be about batman not dealing with his abandonment and anger issues and needing him as a symbol of hope and innocence, it's like how people who are abused want to become parents so they get to the parents they always wanted.

you shouldn't pay attention to that stuff. you know the tights makes kids laugh and the women super heroes make little girls feel stronger, instead of having nothing but crappy man superheroes.

the people whom sketch, draw them overly endowed are covering up for some short coming unto them selves...I have a extensive collex of MARVEL COMICS & a few DC Mags too but the characters in those mags, books, etc, are drawn in proper real life proportion-based on real people images.

as for the excessive image, well people wish & vicariusly live thru what they can any way they can.
