what does this mean? what sort of relationship will we have?

I am so sorry to have offended anyone by putting this in the wrong section. I do actually believe astrology to be a science and strongly linked to astronomy.

astrology began as a "science" in that people actually believed (4000 to 5000 years ago) that various gods were pushing the planets around (the wandering stars). In those days, "planets" included the Sun and the Moon; after all, they are wandering in the sky, relative to the fixed stars. So, astrologers were studying the movements of planets and tried to associate them with events on Earth, looking for connections (that is a form of scientific approach).

The movement of these planets, among the fixed stars, appeared so complicated that people thought that only gods could move things around is such complicated ways. If they do, then it must be to convey some messages to us.

astronomy sort of separated itself from astrology once it was shown that the "complicated" movements of planets could be explained in a (relatively) simple way, using geometry and adding the fact that we (Earth) are not the centre of the universe. Therefore, the movements of planets no longer needed gods which, in turn, sort of killed the concept of hidden messages.

At that stage, the scientific approach is to recognise that there are no hidden messages (explaining why it had always been very difficult to find them).

In general, astrology is not a very good predictor of life events. There are a few weak links that may appear connected to astrology. For example, all people born in winter will be of three signs; all people born in summer will be of three (other) signs. In many countries, the school grade that you are in depends on your age at a given date.

So, people born under a certain sign (meaning: in the month following the date decreed by regulations), will find themselves to be (in general) the oldest students in their class. In general, they will be (ever so slightly) more mature than the other students. This will affect how they learn, how they behave, how they interact, etc. And, in the end, it may affect how "lucky" they are in life.

It may appear to be connected to your sign. However, it has nothing really to do with positions of planets. It simply has to do with date of birth relative to a fixed date set by school regulations.

To continue with a scientific approach to your question, if you both really believe that the position of the planets (I'm including the Sun and Moon as did the ancients) has more impact on you life than your own efforts, then maybe you'll fit well together as you will both agree as to who is to blame for your problems in life (the planets, not you).

In many unsuccessful couple, it is the inability to overcome everyday problems that tears them apart or makes life seem miserable.

In many successful couples, it is the ability to profit from even the smallest joys that keep them together despite the everyday problems.

In other words, every couple has problems every once in a while; you must be able to cope with them. Whatever reason you use to cope with them (whether a "real" reason or something like astrology), then you'll do better than those who prefer to blame the other.

By the way, look at your date of birth and try to find out where the Sun really was on that date. It actually was in another constellation. Astrology is still based on the relative positions of the "houses" as they were approximately 2500 years ago (about the time precession was discovered).

The "first point of Aries" is no longer in Aries. Approximately 2000 years ago, it moved into Pisces (explaining why the new age of Christianity was represented by a fish) and it is now moving into Aquarius (we are entering the Age of Aquarius -- old farts like me can't help but hum a few bars of the song).

This is the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius...

Regardless of whether you believe astrology to be a science (and if you believe that, I'm sorry, but you are wrong), you're not going to get much help here in the astronomy section. You're going to get more complaining than actual answers to your question. They have categories for a reason: use them.

You are correct with your additional comment that astronomy branched out from astrology. People get irritated here because this wasn't the first time someone catagorized their question wrong and surely won't be the last. A good site for checking compatability is Tarot.com

Besides astrological charts, one can find tarot and I-Ching readings and the like. I have used the site and would recommend it.

You need to ask that is the Entertainment & Music > Horoscopes section. That is astrology and not astronomy.

If you really believe in astrology, it will be a rather odd relationship. Perhaps you should be using the same astrologer as this sounds like you are reading from different sources.

Nothing.

Be nice to each other. You'll have a much better relationship that way.

You could have meant to ask this in the astrology section of course...

It means precisely nothing. Astrology is pure bunk, and this is the astronomy section.

Hehe, I had a room-mate in college that was an astronomy major - he used to get so irritated when people asked him to do horoscopes :)
