Current estimates of 3,000 BC pop is 14 million.
In 50 years, we'll be at 10 billion. Current estimates that if we want to support individuals indefinitely -- allotting each person 3,500 calories per day from wheat and 247,000 gallons per year of fresh water -- the planet has room for only about 5 billion people.
Although the growth rate has been slowing, we're on a train wreck....

Its hard to say.
Certain areas of the world were developing civilisations by 3000BC, building cities etc. So population was certainly higher in areas such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Asia Minor etc.
Cities such as Ur, Uruk, Lagash,Isin, Larsa etc in Sumeria/Mesopotamia were fairly large.
There were also largish settlements i the Indus valley.
However, europe, sub saharan africa and the americas were sparsely populated by comparison.

In Britain, enough to build Stone Henge and lots more besides. I'd say at a rough guesstimate somewhere in the one to one and a half million mark. Bearing in mind that UK was then mostly deep forest. We probably mostly lived at the coast in those days and used boats to go from place to place, very much as we still do.
The sea around UK is called "The Indestructible Highway".

That would be approximately 3000 B.C. and according to the US Census Bureau (did not know they were around then... lol) there were approximately 14 million people on Earth at that time.

this is something that can only be guessed at, but logic would suggest that it was only a tiny fraction of today's population.
Perhaps two or three million worldwide?
