Just four, but they were well worth it. The sky was a bit hazy here in North London, and the light pollution is quite strong wherever you go in the area.
I watched for about ten minutes (from about 2 a.m.) & then decided it was too late to stay up with an 8:30 start at work. It's such a shame that the best meteors of any shower don't arrive until after local midnight!

32 ... after taking naps, my husband and I got up at 12:00 am. packed up the blankets and headed north about 45 minutes. We ended up at a perfect spot just north of Denton Texas at Ray Roberts Lake State Park. It was perfect, there were 1,000s of stars and just outside the city haze. We were only able to stay out from 1:00 am - 3:30 am (forgot the bugspray), but they were really great. We together counted 31 and as we were heading out there was one last that went across the sky from the North East to the South. I saw a few out the corner of my eye when we were driving home, but not well enough to count. It was a great show, just needed a flat surface, patience and some bug spray.

Overlooking Lake Michigan nestled between Wisconsin and Illinois, we saw about ten shooting stars from the Perseid meteor shower. This was between 1:00 and 1:35am. They were quick, sparse and, even though there was no visible moon, it was still hard to see. I looked again (at home) around 3am and saw one.

My daughter and I watched for 20 minutes, from 4:00 to 4:20. I saw 2 and she saw 6 (she has young eyes). Our sky was not very dark.

It was too hazy here so I didn't even try to watch the shower. I remember several years ago I saw 52 meteors during the Perseid shower in a 2-hour period.

My husband and I went out about every hour, and ended up with a count of 14. We're in Ohio, in the countryside, and it was so beautiful. There were 13 small ones, and one large that looked almost like a firework. Started pink, went blue, and then white.
