I think it will be a hit as all the kids will watch it and sing along merrily, smiling as they go.

Probably because the songs have completely different sounds and are more moving than the first one. Also because the first one had the whole basics. The second one shouldn't be called High School Musical 2 since they aren't even going to be in high school anymore so why not just make it a whole other movie than the first. That's just my opinion.

Ive never seen High School musical but ive noticed how much the younger kids like it. Disney makes movies that are catchy, flashy, and attract their specific audience. Young fans of the first are going to be just as attracted to the sequel. Disney has a formula already made for succes

No not if the first was an indicator. Some 170 million people watched Number 1 and many of them will come back for the new version.

The second one will be better the singers show more passion and the movie has suspense.
