peters is right. As realistic as it might have seemed, there is a thing called hypnogogic hallucinations that can occur when you are falling asleep. It is called something else when you are waking up, but same thing. It can cause very realistic hallucinations right after you wake up and right before you go to sleep.
Unless you have a sleeping disorder, it is usually triggered by stress or changed sleeping habits.

That is unusual. You could of been imagining it since you just woke up and were probably very tired at the time. It could have been a ghost or aliens. I've had an experience (not like yours though). I woke up for some unknown reason and saw an old man coming towards me. I think he was wearing a baseball jersey and cap. I think he might have been floating. I'm not really sure. What I do know for sure was that he was smiling and that he was a nice ghost, spirit guide, etc. I blinked many times, and yet, he was still there until he was beside my bed where my feet were and vanished. Well, if you were abducted by aliens, you could try hypnosis.

I have no doubt that you perceived something unusual, but you have to take anything you experience as you're falling asleep or right after you wake up with a grain of salt. I would chalk it up as part of your dreams.

yes but it was totally different.....I bought a ticket, boarded a plane so I thought;next thing I knew a little gray attendant was ripping the peanuts back out of my hand, saying I needed to buckle my seat belt....it was going to get bumpy at one hundred thousand feet.......! That's the last time I use my frequent flier miles out of Arizona!

You only think you woke up.
