I have a laptop computer with Windows XP Home with SP2.

I've recently done mine. Add/Remove the main norton program, once done you may have to restart, then Add/Remove the LiveUpdate. Then run the norton removal tool, then delete any Norton & Symantec folders from your Program Files. Restart and all should be fine.

Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - remove the Symantec programs. Hopefully you are replacing Nortons with a new anti virus.

Download Norton Removal Tool just Google it. Its quite straight forward

Go to Start> Control Panel> Add & Remove programs> And select norton and remove.
