Looks do NOT matter ... what is in the HEART is what counts (and this is part of the term "good person").

They do more then they should in the world. Personality is a must and looks are a bonus to many people. Like 40% looks and 90% personallity is what meny people look at but I think people start to set there standerds to high to who is good looking and who is not and who they can get. It is almost like why would they go out with a guy/girl that is ok or not bad looking when they can get a guy/girl that is hot or cute then they pray the person has a good personallity. I really belive looks mattering is only half of it and the rest are standerds the person set for their selfs. But personallity is the biggest like I said it is a must have sometimes people will be attracted to you by only that but if that is all you are running on then your chances can be slim. I do not go just looks and I do not set my standers to high but to a point everyone dose do it.

hm..I think that they do matter. If your ugly; people look down on you. Like you not as good as someone else that is beautiful. Its like if person #1 is ugly and person #2 is beautiful, they both go in for a interview, and both are funny, sweet and have the same experience. The hot person will get the job. Its easier in life if your easy on the eyes.

Looks usually matter in the beginning but in the long run, for me, a good personality without good looks always trumphs a looker with a horrible personality

They matter if you're trying to pick someone up at the bar - or if you're just looking for a one-night stand...
However, looks are the FIRST thing to go with age - so any RELATIONSHIP built solely on physical attractiveness is virtually guaranteed to FAIL!
A good personality might make it harder to make that first impression (unless you're blessed with a very OUTGOING personality) - but someone who has some depth to them is DEFINITELY a keeper ;);););)

yeah, you can but you need to at least make an attempt at getting fit or at least looking neat and clean. having a good personality will carry you past the first couple of encounters. let's be honest, a pretty face or a hot body is good for a bit but you can't talk to a ken or barbie doll if there's nothing there.

Looks used to matter but now I can just get by with personality. I have dated these really hot guys but they turned out to be jerks. It just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover.

looks are simply a first impretion thing and ew all know how important those are to some ppl. my opinion is looks are skin deep and eventually disapear. then all you have is persnality. always look deeper than whats on the surface. once you see inside thats whats going to make you happy. not some trophy husband or wife.
