Do you think your lives would be different if you were raised in the 70s or 80s...in a whole different social environment, with different music and media to guide you?

Do you think there would still be gender confusion, and all these sub-cultures happening that exist now?

I think you would all be so different. People are a product of the times.

And so you should Eug...once you go prime the rest are a dozen a dime (I just made that up)

And lollipop....there were no hippies in the 70s and 80s, they were from the 60s...I'd zap you to the 50s so you would grow up as one...sounds like you could use a little psychadelia in your life.

Exactly Smurf...seems everyone has to fit into a stereotype these days in order to be classified or understood. Something wrong with that.

Totally and absolutely agree with you , i'm not twenty , but we had the best of times in the 70's and 80's there were not a lot of these problems ; people lived more simpler and really there were times that were a blessing. NO computers and video games..music was better, there were real musicians..we had much more in terms of school, a lot of things have been taken out of schools. Lots, kids of today have a very disullioned future. This society is headed for a lot of problems.
Well do you remember David Bowie we sort of thought he had gender confusion..but it was a show.

yeah, i am 17, and if i was raised then my whole life would be different. People didnt care back then as much about getting to work on time, and just little things that make our lives stressful today. I think that i would probably not no a thing about computers. I think i would have ended up going out more, and would have played games with all of my friends more, and just little things that people take for granted today. It seems as if back in the 70's people went to dances more often, and i think it would be very interesting to live back then. But then again i wouldnt change my life for anything, its who i am.

Disagree. It seems like you're completely ignoring all the fragmentation that existed in the 60's and 70's. Not all people were hippies in the 60's or Disco nuts in the 70's. There were just as many fringe elements that existed, many of today's sub-cultures are direct decendents of these groups.

Agree

America dictated what the world has become. We need another world war for a good wake up call to everyone whos too comfortable.

Then after that... a time of satisfaction... of peace.. like the 70s

my bf who is 23 (im 21) always says he would have loved to have been raised in the 60's a time where music was fantastic, people were into 'free love' and the times were just so relaxed and people weren't as nasty and difficult as in todays society.

It seems nowadays that war and conflict overrule everything.

I wish i was raised in that time .................. I'm 13- and I don't like getting called "Glam Rock wannabe emo" for liking KISS and Def Leppard..... I'm tired of people trying to be "Gangster" and I'm tired of Fall Out Boy and Disney Channel. I think there won't be as much gender confusement
I was so born in the wrong generation.......................
I so agree!!!!!!!!! I hate being 13 in this day and age!!!!

I have two girls 2years and 6years old and i agree totally because the things that come on t.v like saying curses and showing nudity on regular t.v didn't happen and the openness of same sex. i have no problem with it, but i went to Conney island Sunday and my daughter ask me why 2 girls was kissing well i didn't see it growing up you are a product of your surroundings.
