Tricks To Solve Trigonometry Problems

2016-12-12 15:47:40 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Basically trigonometry develops based on the right angled triangle with angles 30,60 and 90 degrees using Phythogorous theory. Tips /tricks can be given on specific problems.

It really depends on the specific problem you have. There are too many tips and tricks of solving trigonometry.

You cannot solve an expression such as "trigonometry", you need to form an equation such as:

trigonometry = a number

So you can hence simplify as
(t^2)(r^2)(o^2)ignmey = a number

but there will be infinite solutions since there are 9 variables and only one equation

You actually have on-line the person who devised the SOH / CAH / TOA theory. It was me. In about 1983. My maths teacher was most impressed at my ability to remember the Sine = Opposite over Hypotenuse etc stuff. So, at the end of the lesson I showed her how I did it. Years later I found that my method was actually being taught to maths students. I have been saying it for years, I AM a genius. Trig really is easy when you learn how to apply this (my) theory.

what helped me alot in school is looking at the problem, not as a whole, but piece by piece. You ssee how many parts you have within the problem itself, then try thinking of ways to slove the problem piece by piece, step by step. Plus I would practic eon a daily basis. I went from an F in trig to an A++ goodluck.

SOHCAHTOA invented in 1983 - What did I just go to sleep for 30 years? I think the origins of that are one for Victoria Corren to look into - I was taught that in 1976 and it was old then.

maybe Hipparchus in 180BC or Ptolemy in 90AD came up with it first?

I'll assume sarcasm was intended?

cos,sin,tan,cosh,sinh,tanh
have a lot of rules how to rewrite them.
Also quadratic terms (cosx)^2 = 1/2(cos(2x)) etc.

Another trick is the representation in the Gaussian Space:
eg. cos(x) = 1/2*[e^(ix)+e^(-ix)]

Very often pythagoras or the triangle-angle equations are being used.
Also the Unit-Circle to describe, how the trigonometric functions work, anyway.

Before you know the tricks in working trigo problems , you must master first the very basic trigo concepts.
And enjoy while trying out solving trigo problems.

hi
follow the tips which i give
you must be sure thet you know all these
1 trignometric ratios i.e (sin 30=1/2)

2 indentities formula i.e(cos^2a+sin^a=1)
3 practice many sums
i hope this would help
