You must not be an American. Thats OK, I am honored to enlighten you. Independence Day (commonly known as the “Fourth of July,” “July Fourth”, the “Glorious Fourth”, or simply the “Fourth”) is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. (From Wiki)
If you are not a US citizen hope you are very young and if you are older there is no excuse you must be a idiot. No Excuse..........

No, unless you maybe frequent a french restaurant or cafe. (or maybe live in a French area...)

I worked in one for a while and we'd celebrate Bastille day there, but generally I think most Americans don't know the significance of the day.

I guess, I didn't know the American significance! Flag day! Who knew? hm.

VIve la France!
