I have a relative with a 1994 Caddy Deville. Last week a strange service light came on. "Service Airbag System" I was not under the impression that the airbag system required service. The vehicle has 91,000 miles on it and is driven by an 80 year old woman for errands around town. What could the problem be and how do I fix it?

it means that the airbag system needs a check up, it´s a safety thing. if this 80 year old woman should get in to an accident then it´s good to know if the airbags work. and they require service every 10 years or so,

It says that because there is a problem with the airbag system. Could be just a sensor you should take it to dealer.

sounds like a maintenance reminder light. this is something you want a professional to look at. because anything you do can affect the air bad operation

Most likely this is just a censer. Take it to the dealership and they'll fix it free of charge, well they did for me!
