I'm moving to Nijmegen soon, and have no idea about it.

If you haven't been to Nijmegen before , I can guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised. Very cosmopolitan, thousands of students from almost everywhere,( including a large proportion of medical students from one of the large teaching Hospitals in Nijmegen)
If you are there during the good weather, you will find loads of students sitting out on the terraces of pubs (known as cafes) and restaurants. Believe it or not Nijmegen has more terrace seating per capita than even Amsterdam.
Personally I'm a bit long in the tooth to recommend any 'Cool places', but they do exist, and I'm sure you will have no trouble finding them.
Oh all right then just one 't Haantje, Daalsweg.

You'll have no trouble finding good places in Nijmegen. It's a wonderful place. For a good meal try Apples and Pears (sorry don't know the Dutch name but its pretty similar)on Waalkade near Grotestraat, Ceasers on Nassausingel for a steak, good Mexican on Smetiusstraat plenty of Chinese and Indian, or if you're really sad there is even the ubiquitous MickeyMacs.
Plenty of good bars in the town centre.
