I tryed to foil Evaluate/Simplify: ( x - 1) (2x + 3) but I seem to end up with 2x^2+3x-x-2 but the answer is 2x^2 + x - 3. Where did I go wrong?

You're right Mikey, I've no idea what I was thinking, I did subtract them. Thank you so very much.

When you did the OI part of FOIL, you should get 3x - 2x , to get just x...........and for the L part , I think you subtracted when you should have multiplied, thus you should get - 3. Thus the answer is 2x^2 +3x - 2x - 3 = 2x^2 + x - 3

Multiply (x - 1) by 2x:
(x - 1) * 2x = 2x^2 - 2x

Multiply (x -1) by 3:
(x - 1) * 3 = 3x - 3

Add the two products and simplify:
2x^2 - 2x + 3x - 3
2x^2 + x - 3 The correctly simplified equation

Reconciliation:
Your answer: 2x^2 + 3x - x - 2
The answer: 2x^2 + 3x -2x - 3
Difference: - x - 1

Answer: you lacked - x - 1

Instead of - 2x you answered - x only and instead of - 3 you answered - 2 only.

( x - 1) (2x + 3) = x(2x)+3x-2x-3 = 2x^2 + x - 3
The constant term is the Last x the Last = (-1)(3) = -3
