My kids do most of it - 3 teenagers who have to do chores for their allowance can cover a lot of territory.

It depends. I do some chores and housework, and my fiance does some chores and housework.

I cook and do the grocery shopping because she hates doing it and is a terrible chef. I also maintain the cars and do the yard work and dishes, take out the trash/recycling. Stuff that she doesn't like to do, but doesn't bother me.

She does the majority of the cleaning (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, laundry) for several reasons. She's far more obsessive about cleanliness, and she absolutely hates the way I do it. We used to have fights about cleaning (she says it isn't clean, I say it's clean enough, she says I'm incompetent and lazy, I say she's fussy and can't be satisfied), so she just does it all now without me; it saves both of us a lot of stress.

We both work full-time, although she's going back to school in the fall to get her master's degree. We both take care of the dogs and cats. No kids yet.

if we didn't live with in-laws and still had no children, since I have chosen not to work, I would do all of the housework and I would be happy to do so. But when we have children I most likely will hire a full-time maid to do the cleaning... I will still want to cook and I love doing so.

right now we are living with his family so I do all the cleaning of our suite (each person in the home has their own bedroom, bathroom, and living room). I do some cooking, but for the most part we have two maids at the house so they do all the cleaning (not my room though), cooking, and laundry.

my in-laws are a bit picky so if I cook something they don't like I won't cook another dish for them (and they do ask me to cook something else in addition to what I am already making) so they have to tell the maids to make them something else.

so all in all, if it was our own home, I love to take care of the home and cook for my husband, but while we are living with our in-laws I won't become a maid to them and my husband doesn't expect it either.

I'm a stay-at-home mom so I do 90% of the housework and all of the cooking. My husband takes care of the other 10% - I don't do floors (long story but that was the deal when we got married). He does all the yard work (with some help from me). I'm very fortunate, though. He helps clean up after dinner, will pitch in if I'm having a bad day and gives me some time to myself during the week. He's amazing!

Well in my house, I do almost everything. I do the dishes, make breakfast, lunch and dinner. I clean the house from top to bottom and I take out the trash. He mows the grass and does his own laundry, but he also maintains the cars, keeps them clean and tells me how wonderful my food was. So it evens out.
I do not mind cleaning the house, actually I prefer it because I am a little OCD about things. I do not even like him in my kitchen. Yes that is right MY kitchen, I see no reason for him to go in there. I LOVE taking care of my husband, and he takes very good care of me. So I have a nice win win situation.

I do all the housework. I do it because my husband is a perfectionist and it takes him 30 minutes to make a bed and if it takes that long to make a bed then imagine how long it would take to mop and clean the kitchen. Besides I enjoy taking care of my family. He helps out but when he does it is just for us to have some family time.

I do all of the housework because I promised him I would before we got married and he's holding me to that promise! *grin* Even though things haven't improved in almost 2 decades in the housecleaning department, he has become more easy on the cooking thing. If I'm resting, he'll cook for himself. If I'm up and about, he'll ask me to fix him a sandwich. That's a big change--he used to get me up when I was resting if he was hungry! :-)

I do it, all. I love it. Except the techinical things like cars, etc...
he does those things

I want nothing more than to take care of my husband. Cook, clean, everything. He works hard to put money in the bank and food on the table so that i can stay at home. So i might as well make home a good place for him to be. He deserves to be treated like the king of this house because thats what he is. Hes paying for everything, working full time, going to school full time, and putting me through school ( for my own entertainment really since i never plan on working) so i do everything i can to make his life better.

While this isnt what everyone wants, its what works for us, and something we agreed on before we married.

I find it nice that i got a thumbs down, for living my life how I want to. I choose to be this type of wife, no one forced me into it! And on that note, i didnt force him into this type of life either. If ever asked me to go get a job, or pay for my own school some how i would in a second because i love my husband. He does the things he does for me because he loves me.

I'm the wife and I do most of the house work however, my husband does help out alot around the house like doing laundry and mowing the lawn, he also fills up and empties the dishwasher. We just made a list of the household chores and split them...it's working out well.

I do slightly more but that's because my fiance is a chef and works crazy hours, I could not rightly expect him to start hoovering at 1am. When he is home he helps out a lot, I never ever have to wash the floor or clean the oven because he does those things weekly.

I do everything except mow the lawn, burn the trash, and fold the laundry....my husband does those and only those! Mainly b/c he works 60 hrs a wk and i work 40! Although we still argue sometimes about it....but i also have to take care of our son who is almost 17 months old...so i have my hands full most of the time!
